If you have not already taken the time to read the New Series Posting Guidelines, then welcome to the Open Source Book Project. This thread will go over the guidelines and rules for posting stories within a series.
All content posted, so long as it adheres to the formerly mentioned guidelines, will be considered canon in the series it's posted within. All projects will last exactly 6 months - 1 year (depending on what the series creator deems necessary). All author names (or the alias's they'd prefer to be known by) must be posted on the stories. (if you do not want your name in the credits of the book when compiled and would prefer your forum alias, just leave the name out and we will use your forum alias).
If you have any questions or comments regarding these guidelines, Please post them in response to this thread and they will be answered or put into consideration promptly.
- Stories may not conflict with other stories written already. Meaning if a user writes a story about the king of Dumlokis, another user cannot write another story at the same point in time about the king of Dumlokis. It will create a paradox.
- Stories do not need to be linear. With the previous point being stated. You can write about anything in the world of the series at any time between the Genesis and Rapture. It's entirely up to you to explore. Our goal is the create story worlds that are rich and overflowing with lore and entertainment.
- Stories do not need the same characters. Along the same lines as bullet 2, you may write about anyone you please. create your own characters and put them where ever you like. OR, expand on a previously written story and write about those characters.
- The beginning date of the story must be posted at the beginning of the story. The date format is of no concern as long as it contains day, month and year in it. This is strictly used to ensure that everything is organized in chronological order during series compilation.
- To reiterate the first bulletin, you may NOT create a paradox. You may use the same locations and the same date, but you need to use different characters in your story.
- All stories for a specific series must be posted in the series thread. Do not create a new thread for a story in a series that has already been created.
- All stories can not be any longer than 50 pages. If you cannot fit all of the story in 1 post, please use alternative methods of posting to the forum to conserve space (IE safebin, pastebin, or blogger) If you do use alternative methods. make sure to password the files if you feel necessary, just be sure to paste the passwords on the forums so they can be accessed and read by the users and admins.
